California Institute of Integral Studies Launches Groundbreaking Community Mental Health Program
California Institute of Integral Studies In response to the growing mental health workforce crisis, California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) will launch a groundbreaking graduate degree program in Community Mental Health in fall 2008. The program will offer an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Community Mental Health, as well as an advanced Certificate in Community Mental Health for those with a master's degree in counselling psychology.

Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM), in Tempe, Ariz., will be hosting a Naturopathic Discovery Day on Sat., Nov. 10 and Tues., Nov. 13. This event is free of charge and open to the public. Prospective patients and students will receive an in-depth understanding of Naturopathic medicine and the benefits of using Naturopathic treatments and therapies for a variety of health conditions. The day will include presentations by expert Naturopathic physicians (ND) in the field of diabetes, acupuncture, nutrition and physical manipulation.

National College of Natural Medicine Hosts Qigong Grandmaster on Rare American Visit
National College of Natural Medicine Studying with a martial arts grandmaster usually requires a trip to China, but this summer, Professor Wang Qingyu, grandmaster of the Jinjing style of Qigong paid a special visit to NCNM. Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, founder of NCNM's School of Classical Chinese Medicine, and a longtime student of Master Wang, hosted his friend and mentor on the visit to Oregon.

Hawaii Pacific University to Graduate Nearly 350 Students at Summer Commencement: Masters of Education and Social Work Graduate First Classes
Hawaii Pacific University Hawai'i Pacific University will confer associate, baccalaureate, and master degrees to nearly 350 students as the University celebrates its 67th commencement ceremony on Thursday, August 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Waikiki Shell. Additionally, HPU's Masters of Education in Secondary Education and Masters of Social Work programs will confer degrees to 12 and 18 students respectively, the first graduating classes for the programs.

Argosy University Expands The American School of Professional Psychology & Renames Two Colleges
Argosy University Argosy University announced that it is moving its psychology programs under The American School of Professional Psychology within the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and is renaming two of its colleges. Effective July 1, 2007, all of the University's Psychology degree programs will be realigned under The American School of Professional Psychology, which will officially become a subunit of the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences.

Growing the Profession: National College of Natural Medicine Commencement Salutes 86 Graduates
National College of Natural Medicine The sunshine, the smiles, and the promise of natural medicine seemed even brighter than usual as National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) held its fiftieth commencement ceremony on June 25. The College awarded 78 Doctor of Naturopathic medicine (ND) degrees and 26 Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) degrees. Eighteen people received both degrees. James Sensnig, ND, a 1978 graduate of NCNM, gave the commencement address, telling the students they can help reshape the American health care system.
