Founded in 1974, The University of Houston - Clear Lake (UH-Clear Lake) offers over 46 master's degrees and one doctoral program to over 3,300 students inclusive of programs housed in the School of Business, School of Education, School of Humane Sciences and Humanities and School of Science and Computer Science. UH-Clear Lake began offering its first doctoral program - the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, in 2007. At UH-Clear Lake graduate programs go beyond the academic to offer reality-based education though active involvement with businesses and industries in a range of fields including aerospace, healthcare, education, computing and petrochemical. These community partnerships place UH-Clear Lake at the center point where higher learning and career advancement meet, providing students with advantageous career connections through internships, research and employment.

UH-Clear Lake is located between Houston and Galveston Island and is adjacent to NASA's Johnson Space Center and Armand Bayou Nature Center. The university's four student-centered buildings and one maintenance building are surrounded by a 524-acre natural environment that includes park-like settings with Horsepen Bayou winding through heavily wooded areas abundant with wildlife. On-campus housing is provided by University Forest Apartments, a privately owned and managed apartment complex built in 1995. The Alfred R. Neumann Library provides students with online access to thousands of books, journals and scholarly resources as well as personal research assistance. UH-Clear Lake's many centers, institutes, clinics and laboratories also offer students a broad range of opportunities for conducting research and applying academic theory.
Grad Student Organizations
Student activities include over 70 clubs and organizations, spanning the fields of business, education, human science, humanities, and natural & applied science. UH-Clear Lake also is host to religious ministries and associations, various international student clubs, special interest clubs and over one dozen honor societies.
